Sir Nicholas Winton was a British humanitarian who organized a rescue operation that saved the lives of 669 children, most of them Jewish from Czechoslovakia, from Nazi death camps, and found homes for them and arranged for their safe passage to Britain between the years 1938-1939.
After the war, his heroic work remained unknown for about 40 years. Until in 1988, Winton’s wife Grete found the scrapbook from 1939 with the complete list of names and photos of children.
